EL FUTURO

1982. A group of youngsters are at home dancing and drinking. There is a happy, festive atmosphere in the air. The victory of the PSOE party in the general elections seems recent and the night is imbued with a contagious spirit of euphoria and celebration. The failed coup of 23 February, one year earlier, seems to pertain to another time, quickly fading into the distant past. El Futuro (The Future) is set in the Spain of 1982, a time when all hopes were pinned on the future. But the future also seems to be approaching at light speed, like a black hole devouring everything in its path.
