A collection of drawings, paintings and collages comprised of the series titled Gángsters y falleras [Gangsters and Fallas Queens], Tempus Fugit and Retratos de familia [Family Portraits]. The use of the resist dyeing technique, which lends the pieces a look like that acquired using acetone transfer methods, gives it the graphic qualities needed to create the slightly mysterious feeling that envelopes these scenes.
Cavestany first presented this collection of drawings and collages in Innsbruck, where he was invited by the Tyrolean Artists' Association in 1998.
Fourteen years after this visit to Austria "the people and the situations in these drawings are just as alive as then", says the author of these works. The showing begins with a collection of portraits titled Gángsters & Falleras [Gangsters and Fallas Queens]. This transdisciplinary artist has brought together the history of these two peculiar groups in a recently published book featuring stories with a similar feel to the pieces in Tempus Fugit. For this occasion the collection of drawings and collages has expanded to include two paintings belonging to a different series, titled Retratos de familia [Family Portraits], shown in Madrid in 1997.
