The CSMM school (Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda de Madrid), a fashion design institute, presents June 22 two collections featuring its most daring final projects, focused on formal and technical experimentation. Adhering to the tradition of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, the show provides a boost for the students in their training as designers, stimulating their creativity through practice.
“Envuelve el espacio” (surrounding space) is an experimental collection produced using the understanding of the morphological elements of a look that the first-year students discovered this year, with woven fabric as its common denominator.
With “Deconstrucción” (deconstruction), in the widest sense, the second-year students have, thanks to the study and analysis of shape, texture, color, etc., achieved collections set apart from the rest with a pretext that is more creative than commercial.
The overall result is a sequence of ideas, all of them intended to give birth to and communicate in- through the garments the students have created- another language with its own rules and in the midst of its very process of creation, a live art that marries creativity and technique.
