European Music Day at Matadero
The DEMM (European Music Day at Matadero) is one of the events that has become a classic of this contemporary creation center. More than 15 years have passed since its first edition back in 2009, and over time, the plazas of Matadero Madrid have borne witness to the ups and downs of the indie scene, the birth and rise of national and international bands, and have served as a beacon illuminating the emergence of new genres and musical trends.
In this new 2025 edition, the DEMM aims to once again act as a thermometer of contemporary music, thanks to an international lineup where rock, pop, and electronic music come together — a celebration of music that kicks off the summer with dancing and introduces us to rising stars.
Between bold newcomers and established names, DEMM25 seeks to offer a thoughtful and enjoyable journey through the music that moves us today. But we’re also looking to the music lovers of tomorrow, which is why two special events will be offered for the little ones.
Adding to the experience, Cineteca will host a series of music documentaries, offering a deeper understanding of the creative processes behind some of the most influential musicians and creators in our environment.
In short, DEMM25 aims to be a music celebration open to everyone — young and old, across all genres — helping us better understand the new directions the music scene is taking.
