The experimental theater workshops return to Naves del Español in January with Alfredo Sanzol. Anyone interested in experiencing the process of experimental theater research can sign up to attend; it is especially interesting for professionals working in any artistic discipline (directors, actors, musicians, artists, set/stage designers, lighting technicians, dancers, etc.).
"The idea is that, before meeting, before beginning the workshop, each actor involved in the workshop should come up with their own character. Having gotten to know the character preparing a character study and having come up with a five-line monologue is enough to start with. Creating a character using a character study sets off your imagination. It's really fun to interview someone in character because the answers you get seem to really come from a character who already exists. I would like the basic building blocks for this work to be the following: the game of getting into costume. There is something there that is original to the art of theate, something connected to the basic game of acting. The monologue and the interview will let us get to know something more about these characters and then we will be able to get them all lined up in a cast. I still don't know how. We have to create a world, a constellation, through the random meeting of these characters. We have to let the story come from the characters, from the way the relate to each other based on this meeting. Since this is all I know and the trick is to let myself be led by the world of the characters created here, we will call this workshop: The name of this workshop will be known only once it is finished".
