FESCINAT

FESCINAT is a film festival dedicated to sport and outdoor activities with the aim of promoting and assisting film-makers who are new to these fields. These are subjects for which it is difficult to find funding for film production and distribution, but which are made with the same dedication and to the same professional standard as some fiction movies. With this festival we are hoping to encourage the general public, rather than just specialist audiences, to begin to appreciate and watch these types of productions. FESCINAT 2014 will screen various films related to mountain sports, adventure and outdoor leisure pursuits.
Much like the first edition, we will be giving priority to short films. We will be holding an international short film competition, which will include a selection of the ten best homegrown and foreign shorts received.  These films may be entered for the festival’s prizes. The productions will be specially chosen by a select group of audiovisual experts, film-makers, post-production company executives and well-known sports personalities in order to guarantee content of the best possible standard.
