Programme

Mexican artist Gilberto Esparza's "Urban Parasites" are life forms, robotic sculptures that subsist on energy generated by humankind.  Esparza guides us on a tour of the ecosystem his Urban Parasites have created in the Intermediae wing.  To explain the making of these robotic sculptures, the artist will describe the project's three phases: recycle, build, parasitize.  The public can share Esparza's experience of the journey these structures and life forms have made beginning in the street, working one's way into the workshop and then going back outside again, thus tracing the route these automatons' placement has made in public areas.

The Parasites will be occupying the Intermediae wing until 25 September.
