GRAN CONVOY

Gran Convoy returns to the Matadero Workshop with its six cars loaded with blocks, wooden sticks, chalk, logs, ropes, and fabrics to shape a shared play space. Through these simple materials, children and adults can build, transform, and imagine new play environments where every proposal is different from the last. Free of instructions or predetermined paths, Gran Convoy invites everyone to experiment freely and create collectively.

An unstructured activity based on free and spontaneous play.

Recommended for children aged 2 and older. Children must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult who is eager to play and participate in the activity.

Admission is free. However, all participants—both adults and children—must download their tickets from the Madrid Destino ticketing platform.

Tickets will become available on Friday, September 4 at 12:00 PM. Each person may download up to 4 tickets.

Please carefully consider your availability to attend before downloading tickets, as unused spots will go to waste.

To facilitate access and ensure the space can be enjoyed by the greatest number of children, 80-minute sessions will be held at 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:30 PM.

The room will be cleared between each session to allow a new group to enter.

About the Creator

Gran Convoy is a wooden train designed by Ana Cortés (serrín.tv) for Matadero. Sawdust (serrín) is what is left over from sawing; it is carpentry waste. This collective loves dust and wood shavings because they work with discards and from the margins. We are a group of people who do things as a family and on a small scale, making videos in the mornings and working with wood in the afternoons.
