IL CAPO

PALMARÉS DE L`ALTERNATIVA.  At the marble quarries of Monte Bettogli, in Carrara (Italy), man and machine excavate the mountain, as if led by an orchestra.  The marble, the same kind as that used by the world-famous sculptor Michaelangelo for his statue of David, is about to crumble.  The noise in these quarries must be deafening but in the film it has been treated in such a way that the viewer's attention is focused on the movements of man and machine.
