INFINITA is a play about the first and last moments in the puzzle of life and death when the  greatest miracles occur: the first appearance in the world, those first brave steps and finally,  that first bold fall.  This is a play starring four fabulously masked figures, a very crafty game of shadows and some  truly enchanting music. A game of transience, of being born and of growing old. A vigorous   succession of scenes about the inevitable fate of the human being. Life itself – that creative  force that lets us triumph and fail – plays the star role.  INFINITA is a tangible mosaic of life, simply and virtuously composed; a brief insight into the  eternity of birth, sex and death and everything else that is odd.

Familie Flöz – method

FAMILIE FLÖZ makes theater using means that lie “before language”. All conflicts first manifest  themselves physically and this physical conflict is the origin of all dramatic situations. All the  group’s pieces are the result of collective creative efforts in which the performers are also the  authors of the figures and situations. Because the troupe is not a fixed entity, a new ensemble  congregates to develop not only a new piece but new working and rehearsal methods as well.  The players’ artistic and technical foundations are characterized by their studies at the Folk-  wang-Hochschule in Essen, which itself was created with the idea of combining the various art  forms in a productive manner.  The typical masks created by FLÖZ are important tools for the development of the dramatic  material and figures. Like texts, the masks not only have a form, but also a context. The pro-  cess of developing a mask, playfully acting with it, and finally creating a symbiosis between the  mask and actor is decisive for the end results. In a way the masked actor “writes” the scene  with his body, in the air.
