INTRODUCTION TO SOUND, RECORDING AND INTERPRETATION OF THE LOCAL SOUNDSCAPE

Over three sessions on February 5^th, 6^th and 7^th, the Galician collective Escoitar.org, will develop a workshop that includes active listening exercises, the analysis of conceptual and technical aspects related to soundscape and phonography that will be completed with field recordings, processing and the uploading of photos, which will result in the charting of a sound map, which will be agreed upon by the participants.   This workshop begins with a discussion and an awakening of the ear, and active listening exercises, that will introduce participants to sound.   After this we will study conceptual and technical aspects relating to the soundscape and phonography.   Finally, the last two sessions will be devoted to field recording and the processing and uploading of photos that will chart a sound map, which will be agreed upon by all participants.
