From his office in Barcelona, where he normally writes, Juan Marsé discusses his famous novels Last Afternoons with Teresa [Últimas tardes con Teresa], If They Tell You I Fell [Si te dicen que caí], Shanghai Nights [El embrujo de Shanghai], Lizard Tails [Rabos de lagartija], and The Caligraphy of Dreams [Caligrafía de los sueños], the films that have been made from them, and his relationship with classic American cinema and its infleunce on his narrative, surrounded by books, translations of his work in different languages, and personal objects.

Director  Augusto M. Torres (Madrid, 1942) has worked for the newspaper El País for the last twenty-five years.  He has written screenplays with Rafael Azcona, Ricardo Franco and Vicente Molina Foix.  He has produced short films by Jaime Chávarri and Emilio Martínez-Lázaro (and his own), and feature-length films such as Arrebato (1979), by Iván Zulueta.  He directed El pecador impecable (1987), Las películas de mi padre (2006) and El sabor salado de las lágrimas (2012).  He has published several novels –El santuario inmortal (1972), El viaje en tren (1975), Diálogos con una francesa (1990), Manías infantiles (2004) – and many books about film: El cine norteamericano en 120 películas (1992), Vincente Minnelli (1995), Diccionario Espasa Cine (1996), Diccionario Espasa Cine Español (1999), Las películas de mi vida (2002), Buñuel y sus discípulos (2005), 720 Directores de cine (2008) and 2.500 películas de Hollywood (2011).
