Thursday, March 7 Casa del Lector will hold a concert and album launch for the new record by Judith Jáuregui, considered the most renowned Spanish pianist of this generation. The event pays homage to Alicia de Larrocha on what would be her 90th birthday. With Para Alicia, inspiración española this San Sebastián native honors some of thefundamental works in piano of Spanish music, originally released into the world by Alicia. It is an offering that Jáuregui has made based on her deep admiration for this woman, who is an important figure for her talent, her vitality, and her life.
With this CD the San Sebastián native is also launching her own record label, BerliMusic. Its name is a play on words with the word "libre" [free], which is how the artist declares she feels in her music, in her life, and in the journey she has set out on now, where she is free to create.
