Opening night, 16th of October, 20h. In this, the latest phase of the vending machine selling books at MATADERO MADRID, in each of its programmes LA ARREBATDORA will have a narrative thread, relating to cultural events happening in the city of Madrid.   We begin, in October, with a programme, which is specifically orientated to 2013’s poetas por km2. An explosively poetry festival organised in Conde Duque on the 17th, 18th and 19thof this month. In this first programme, the books presented will be closely related to the poets who have participated over the nine years of the poetry festival.   The opening night of the new ARREBATADORA stage will be on Wednesday 16th of October with a performance by Peru Saizprez and Ajo in the lobby entrance of Paseo de la Chopera. This will be the kicking off point for 2013’s poetas por km2. and the next stage for our dearly beloved ARREBATADORA.   EVENTS   1.-) ZURITA.  RAÚL ZURITA DELIRIO, 2012 pvp: 24 euros 21 x 14. Divided into three parts that have serving as their background the evening of the 10th of September 1973, the night between the 10th and 11th, the dawn of September 11th, the day of a military strike in Chile. Zurita is both the title of a book and the name of an author, acting like a cipher for a voice that is occupied by an infinite number of other voices simultaneously converging on to one of the most damaging episode of the country’s life. Raúl Zurita participated in the sixth edition of Poetas por km2.   2.-) CARTÓN CONTRA EL OLVIDO.  MARTIRIO MENINAS CARTONERAS, 2012 pvp: 10 euros 23 x 16. “Chavela: cartón contra el olvido” (cartoons against forgetting) is the new title of the collection CartoMemoria, in this collection a selection of lyrics taken from songs that are most representative of the Chamana written by Martirio, are accompanied by a few words from a Spanish singer who fondly remembers Chavela, alongside illustrations by the Colombian artist Lucas Agudelo. Martirio was in the eighth edition of Poetas por km2.   3.-) VOMIT. AN ANTHOLOGY OF POETRY BY YOUNG NORTH AMERICAN POETS.  THE GAVIERO EDITIONS, 2013 pvp: 20 euros 20x14. Prologue and selection by Luna Miguel. Bilingual edition. 210 pages. Authors such as Tao Lin appear in this anthology (who has just finished publishing his latest novel in the editorial Alpha Decay). Among equally notable others are Dorothea Lasky (currently one of the most important voices in poetry), Jordan Castro (who at the age of 18 has several books, anthologies andchapbooksunder his belt), as well as Richard Chiem, Steve Roggenbuck, Ana C. and Kendra Grant Malone. This anthology will be presented in this the ninth edition of Poetas por km2.   4.-) BELLO PÚBLICO. (BEAUTIFUL PUBLIC)   AJO MATADERO MADRID, 2012 pvp: 15 euros 16 x 20. Published in 2011, photographs of celebrities from the nineties and the early 2000’s taken from the ALFIL theatre box office in Madrid. Photographs and text by Ajo. Ajo has participated in several editions of Poetas por km2.   5.-) LA MÁS BELLA DE PEGA (MOST BEAUTIFUL STICKERS) LA MÁS BELLA, 2008 pvp: 30 euros   Published in February 2008. Paint tray (35x18, 5x6 cm) with adhesive materials, self adhesive and printed adhesives, techniques, such as offset, screen-printing, pad printing etc. LA MÁS BELLA has participated in several editions of Poetas por km2.   6.-) AMOR. 20 POEMILLAS DE AMOR DE USAR Y TIRAR. (LOVE. 20 LOVE POEMS TO USE AND THROW AWAY)  ABEL FIGUERAS PIX EDITORIAL, 2002 pvp: 4 euros Format: smoking papers in a red jacket, Contains twenty love poems. One of the most widespread book-objects serving as an inspiration for other artists in ground breaking book formats. Abel Figueras appeared in the first edition of Poetas por km2.   7.-) ABOLICIÓN DE LA PENA DE MUERTE. (ABOLITION OF THE DEATH PENALTY) JAVIER GALLEGO CRUDO ARREBATO LIBROS, 2013 pvp: 10 euros 13 x 21. ‘Abolición de la pena de muerte’ is an uncompromising book of poems, written with guts and aimed straight at the stomach, an uncomfortable, difficult and gritty book, a healing process through pain, frightening and sometimes extreme - poetry that cuts into the skin like a deep scratch. Javier Gallego is participating in this, the ninth edition of Poetas por km2.   8.-) BLABLA BLABLABLA BLA BLABLA BLA BLABLA BLABLA BLABLABLABLABLA.       ROBERTO EQUISOAÍN BELLEZA INFINITA, 2013 pvp: 11 euros 20 x 13. The twenty love poems and a song of despair, by Pablo Neruda, are translated by replacing each syllable with a blah. The layout, typography, design and binding imitate an edition of Seix Barral.   9.-) 11 ARTISTAS EN UNA CÁMARA FRIGORÍFICA (11 ARTISTS IN A COLD STORE).

A valuable document for delving into the creative process.   10.-) BORRACHA EN LAS CIUDADES.(DRUNK IN CITIES) LALO BARRUBIA EDICIONES LILIPUTIENSES, 2013 pvp: 11 euros 15 x 15. A writer and performer born in Montevideo en 1967. In addition to various poetry books, she has written two novels that represent the experiences of a generation that grew up under the totalitarian regimes of the 1970’s in a crude yet poetic way. Her novel Pegame (Pick me) received third prize from the Ministry of Culture in Uruguay’s Annual Prizes for Literature, Lalo Barrubia is participating in the ninth edition of Poetas por km2.   11.-) NEORRABIOSO. Poems and Paintings.   BATANIA EDICIONES LA BARAGAÑA, 2012 pvp: 12 euros 20 x 14. In this book, as well as the seventy-five poems, are thiry-six paintings selected from a total of 433 that have decorated / show and marked the walls of Madrid since the middle of 2008. Batania is participating in the ninth edition of Poetas por km2.     12.-)  INSTANTO. ANTHOLOGY OF POEMS + CD.     ARNALDO ANTUNES Kriller71 ediciones, 2012 pvp: 12 euros 20 x 14. An anthology of poems on famous Brazilian Music. Includes a CD with two versions of the unedited piece DESLÍMITES, composed for a dance performance.
