'Laberintos' Film Cycle

In an age filled with trompe-l'oeils, where AI and post-truth push us toward cynicism, what does the act of looking really imply? Our gaze, increasingly cynical and apathetic, glides over an uninterrupted flow of images, compulsively consuming sordid realities, characters at the edge, and situations of misery or violence in an endless scroll, without blinking.

Facing this digital desensitization, this cycle, curated by Colectivo Laberinto (Itzan Escamilla and Miguel Morillo), proposes a space for reflection and critical analysis through eight films that reclaim the figure of the voyeur to ask what it means to be a "peeper" today. It is not about observing with impunity from a distance, but about engaging with what is being watched.

These works—raw, dissident, profoundly human—confront us with shocking narratives that are not mere residual stimuli, but realities that demand empathy, thought, and emotion. Cinema as an act of resistance that compels us to inhabit the space of the "other" and to recover our capacity to be moved by the rawness of the real. What would happen if what we observed looked back at us?

With the presence of Itzan Escamilla and Miguel Morillo (Colectivo Laberinto).
