The skate film festival returns to the venue at Matadero Madrid after the success of its first year, featuring the premieres of a total of nine films for a non-conformist audience of lovers of the seventh art, for all ages.
This summer Madrid Skate Film Festival is back, July 5 - 7, following the success of its first edition.

The skate film festival returns to the venue at Matadero Madrid with premieres of the best films involving skateboarding.  All together, nine films for a non-conformist audience of lovers of the seventh art, for all ages.  Not just for the skateboarding world, but also- and above all- for anyone interested in sports, good films, music, and other artistic disciplines.
For the second year in a row, Nave de Música, the Plaza, and the Cineteca at Matadero have the best film premieres, including documentaries, such as this one that took home an award at the Berlin International Film Festival, This Ain't California, by director Marten Persiel.  It is a retrospective of four of the best skate productions, such as David Winters's "Thrashing".   Additionally, there will be a number of activities, such as roundtables, an express marathon, and more, taking place throughout the festival's duration.
Again this year we are holding the MSFF film contest, which hands out awards in the categories of Best Skate Video, Best Longboard Video, Best Editing, Special Festival Prize, and the Special Prize for Best International Video, featuring a jury headed by skater Kilian Martin and made up of names connected to skateboarding, production, and communication.   Videos will be accepted for submission to the contest from May 13 to June 20.  Visit the website at www.madridskatefilmfestival.com for more information on how to participate, learn more about the judges, the awards, and last year's winners.
MSFF 2013 is a first-rate cinematographic, sport, and artistic endeavour.  Daring, original, fun, and independent, it is a selection of quality films that seeks to be a point of reference in this nation.
