Basilio Martín Patino (Salamanca, Spain, 1930) is considered one of the greatest auteurs in the history of Spanish film.  From the beginning he fought for his films working in the shadow of dictatorial commercial film, rejecting conventional artistic paths to succes, which has made him a visionary in the non-ficton film world.  This retrospective deals with nearly his entire filmography, including projects like Nueve cartas a Berta [Nine Letters to Berta] (1966), Canciones para después de una Guerra [Songs to Be Heard After a War] (1971), Queridísimos verdugos [Dearest Hangmen] (1973), Caudillo [Prison] (1973), Los paraísos perdidos [Paradises Lost] (1985), Madrid (1987)...
