Mario Bermúdez continues to explore a physical, intense, and dazzling language, deeply rooted in and connected to human emotions and contradictions. On this occasion, he takes Dante’s Inferno as his point of departure and reference, along with the symbolism of initiatory journeys.

Averno is a sensory trance, a journey in which the audience is immersed from beginning to end, empathizing with the performers and navigating between the collective and the individual. It is a voyage that reveals the power of liberation and the nakedness of our own being.

This journey brings each performer closer to their true essence—to their most intuitive and primal self. Along the way, they must confront the darkest versions of themselves: their doubts, fears, and weaknesses. Yet within them also lies a great strength of unity and awareness—the seven performers can be seen as a single traveler—where all become mirror and landscape, discovering that freedom can be found even in the darkest and most unfamiliar places.

Averno is a transformative physical and emotional journey that embodies a quest: the inner reconquest.
