MATADERO TERRACE

Matadero Madrid announces the opening on June 29 of the terrace-bar in Plaza Matadero, the open space found within the interior of the contemporary creation centre located next to the Madrid Río park.  The terrace, which will be open all summer, comes with the installation Archipiélago, by the Mexican artist Jerónimo Hagerman, mobile modular system of islands of vegetation, intended as an invitation to explore the personal emotional relationships we have with the exterior and with ourselves: green places to play, lie down and take a rest and have a drink or a snack in the shade.  Because what is truly important, on the Terrace as well as on the islands of Archipiélago, is what happens “when people use it”. The opening of the terrace, which will be kept open all summer, will coincide with the end-of-season party at Matadero Madrid, and with the installations ‘48’, by Susana de Sousa Días, ‘Seated Men’, by Carlos Rodríguez Méndez, and ‘Bello público’, the photo project by the popular micropoet Ajo from Madrid, as well as other actitivities.  Deejays, light refreshments and all the stars of the season at Matadero Madrid convene in a party open to the public.
