SPANISH VERSION

First solo exhibition in Spain by Navid Nuur, recent recipient of the Royal Prize for Painting of the Netherlands (2011) and one of the most renowned emerging artists in Europe.
The exhibit includes a collection of works that delve into the oeuvre that Nuur has been developing on light and volatile materials for years.

Falling under the “Focus on the Netherlands” as part of ARCO Madrid and organised by Matadero Madrid in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands, HOCUS FOCUS explores the synaesthetic – almost magical – qualities of light and its ability to modify and be modified by objects. Navid Nuur (Tehran, 1976) lives and works in The Hague, where he has pursued a solid career exploring the establishing boundaries of what is considered art, proposing a new sensitivity, a new way to feel affected by what surrounds us, another way of seeing the world, of imagining it different.
