Based on the book Obabakoak, by Bernardo Atxaga.  Lurdes, barely 25 years old, sets out on a journey to the Obaba territory.  In her luggage she carries a small video camera.  With it she plans to capture the reality of Obaba, its world, its people.  She wants to capture the present, show it just as it is.  But Obaba is not the place that Lurdes imagined it was, and she soon discovers that those who live there, like Merche, Ismael, and Tomás, are anchored in a past from which they cannot –or do not wish to– escape.

A series arranged by the Etxepare Basque Institute

The series is accompanied by the exhibition "Atxaga en las artes" [Atxaga In Art] at Archivo Documenta.  Tuesday through Saturday and Saturday through Sunday, from 5pm till 9pm.  Fridays from 6pm till 10pm.  Closed Mondays and throughout the Holy Week holidays.
