Programme

Medialab Matadero

Throughout the year, LAB 5: The Mechanics of Truth has explored the technological production of the real: how facts are assembled, how belief is manufactured, how perception is under constant pressure, and how models and simulations can manipulate it or come to its rescue.

The OpenLAB brings this journey to a close.

Over three days of talks and presentations, artists, technologists, designers, thinkers, and program participants will address these questions through artistic research practices, grassroots innovation, and alternative visions to commercial mainstream channels. Among these, the prototypes from the Collaborative Prototyping Lab—developed by 25 participants selected through an international open call—will be presented.
