THE QUALITY SCHOOL LIBRARY

In this course we are presenting, we will provide resources, reflections on how to make our libraries functional, inviting, accessible, and effective.  We want to offer up ideas to facilitate the a child's discovery of a book, within the limitations in budget, space, and personnel that we face right now.

Objectives:

• To understand and apply the best strategies to make the school library dynamic and encourage children to read and write.
• To understand reading in preschool-age and young children, and the important role it has in the bibliographic resources of a school library.
• To acquire the best techniques and resources for oral narration.
• To gain theoretical and practical knowledge needed for designing, implementing, and evaluating a reading project.
