It is 9 March 1951, and General Queipo has died. Some journalists describe his burial as we see Queipo on his deathbed, from where we also witness the following: his dreams of Richard III, the defence of his points of view from the power of Franco, his friendship with Cardinal Segura, his conspiracies, his speeches on Unión Radio, agreements and disagreements with his daughter Maruja and his assistant, and later with his son-in-law Juliano Quevedo… and above all his lust for power, his megalomanic striving to become a caudillo. All of this occurs in a timeline that passes through Seville from 1936 to 1939, his “exile” in Rome from 1939 to 1942 and his final years in “Gambogaz”, an estate located beside the Guadalquivir river that was given to him by the City of Seville and imposed upon popular subscription, thanks to his intervention in 1936... until his death on 9 March 1951.
