At what level is one committed to society? What is the responsibility of the individual in that society? What responsibility do those who represent us have, do they have to be role models or heroes?   As part of the Festival Escena Contemporánea, Quiet everyone! Aims to juxtapose different views, sometimes conflicting and contradictory about 23-F, rescue stories, songs, the public and everyday moments of the time in a bid to unravel the humanistic mechanisms that lie behind the preparation of a coup of any kind, in order to reveal today’s society with its fears, uncertainties, failures and ambitions.   The working methodology of the Mirage company is the creation of a collective and to devise, as we have developed over the last few years, experiences of exchange through workshops and theatre festivals in various European countries and by working in collaboration with international companies. As with other shows put on by the company, Quiet Everyone! Aspires to make a theatrical work that breaks the boundaries of the stage and brings in new audiences to encourage discussion, reflection, fun and the learning of new skills. We become accomplices to the public by making them into the real protagonist of the project, drawing on ideas relating to blurring the boundaries between author and viewer. As Jacques Rancière says “blur the boundaries between those that look and those that act, among those that are individuals and those that are group members… the common power is the power of equal intelligence”.   In this project we propose to draw a parallel between that which happened in the attempted coup of 1981 and the current political and economical situation, investing in the emancipation of individuals and equality of intelligence as strategies for creation and public participation.
