RADIO SURES / PUBLIC LISTENING #4

The author’s documentary is what we stand for. But, this begs the question, where is this author? They are usually hidden within a mesh of editing, invisible, like the director in classical cinema. However, there is also a tradition where the author asserts their presence more clearly. Where they express themselves as a voice, and sometimes they even become characters that interact with other characters. Why in this particular role? Is it legitimate? And/or necessary?   We will discuss this with a surprise guest, with whom we will listen to extracts from documentaries in English and French, with subtitles in Spanish.   Radio Sures is a web-radio concerned with radio documentaries. Without the use of photos as extras nor the aid of video and multimedia bonus material. We are committed to telling stories, exclusively, with the use of sound, listening to material of our own and that of others - in our bimonthly meetings at Terrario de Intermediae. For each session we invite an artist from another creative field: cinema, painting, photography, literature, theatre, etc.
