RARA AVIS: JACQUES GREENE / CHELIS / LUISHØCK

Rara Avis is a musical offering for Sundays that brings to Matadero artists making avant-garde electronica beyond the club scene, serving up new soundscapes created by the most exciting birds from the up-and-coming international scene.  It is an event where you can discover the best selection of new international talents and- at the same time- a new way to support local projects.  Rara Avis lands at the Nave de Música at Matadero Madrid, in collaboration with Red Bull, creating a space dedicated entirely to the different aspects of music creation.  Sunday, October 21, Rara Avis begins with Jacques Greene, who acts as the first rare bird of this new series at the Nave de Música.  This young producer from Montreal is one of the big names of 2012.  His electric sound has seen him remixing Radiohead, Kelly Rowland and Jimmy Edgar at just 20 years of age.  After various releases with cult labels like Lucky Me and Night Slugs, he is currently working with his own record label: Vase, where, in addition to his work, he works with names like Koreless and Zodiac.  Along with this first rara avis, we are featuring two artists from the Spanish scene: Chelis and Luishøck.  Chelis, a must-have name in advanced Spanish electronica, is recognized by the media as one of the best DJs in Spain.  His mix of styles and his extensive knowledge of music always make his sessions surprising.  On this inaugural flight, Luishøck will be representing the young collective Post Club, who, after their appearance at Escaravox last summer, are returning to Matadero Madrid.  In addition to the live performance, Rara Avis brings to the audience streaming videos of the shows, right to their homes, thanks to their partnership with Cires 21 and Concepto Radio.  At www.conceptoradio.net everyone can connect in real time with the the artists.
