RETROSPECTIVE DEDICATED TO HEINZ EMIGHOLZ
His films do not illustrate buildings or explain theories. Instead, they propose a direct encounter with form, matter, and time. Each shot is a patient observation that allows spaces to speak for themselves. The camera moves little. The light shifts. Ambient sound cuts through the image. The building appears as a living organism, inseparable from the world around it.
This retrospective traces different stages of his work. Dieste [Uruguay] and Le Corbusier [|||||] Asger Jorn [Relief] approach modernity from two directions: the constructive inventiveness of Eladio Dieste and the conflicted dialogue between architecture and art in Le Corbusier and Asger Jorn. Perret in France and Algeria explores the world of reinforced concrete across two geographies linked by a shared history. Sense of Architecture expands this perspective, turning contemporary buildings into perceptual experiences. Parabeton – Pier Luigi Nervi und römischer Beton concludes the journey with a dialogue between modern engineering and the enduring presence of Roman concrete.
