Gemma Palomar trained as a circus performer at the National Centre for Circus Arts in London. Since then she has participated in various art projects in places such as the National Theatre in London or events and festivals of international prestige in Belgium, Germany, Portugal, France, China, India or Korea. Gemma Palomar uses the pole, dance and physical theatre as a means of expression. During her Master’s Programme in Contemporary Circus Practices, which she just finished at the DOCH, she has developed new expanded forms of circus that engages with Contemporary Art. As part of her research she found she needed to involve herself in participatory art, more focused on the process than on the final result, in order to provide the audience with a state of connection, spontaneity and honesty with themselves.

reVisiones is an immersive and individualized experience for each spectator, in which the visitor becomes a participant. To achieve this, Gemma Palomar creates a meeting space on the stage, where she encourages visitors to experiment with their spontaneity, their listening (to themselves and what surrounds them), observation and movement, and to connect in this way with the creative state. After visiting Stockholm and Copenhagen, she arrives in Madrid to facilitate a journey of introspection to all those interested in such a journey, with her as a guide.
“reVisiones aims to create a space in which those taking part can be aware of the connection between their body, mind and spirit. Participatory art gets the audience involved in the creative process and makes them share the experience. That's my goal, to develop an Expanded Circus", the artist concludes.
