SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 'NOSOTRAS CONTAMOS 2026'

Germinal brings together eight short films that explore the world from places of transition, doubt, and transformation. Their protagonists navigate adolescence and adulthood, motherhood and the desire not to be a mother, belonging and displacement, memory and loss. These works stem from intimate experiences to question how we inhabit our bodies and our affections.

Moving from fiction to essay, and from documentary to found footage or formal experimentation, the female filmmakers summon narratives where the personal is never isolated from its surrounding context. Family relationships, friendship, work, migration, or political conflicts filter into stories that progress through fragility, observation, and inquiry.

In this new edition of Germinal, eight films trace a cartography of young women attempting to position themselves in a constantly changing world. Pieces that, from different geographies and sensibilities, imagine new ways of looking, remembering, and building community.
