Second edition of SISMO. A festival that continues focused on creation, paying special attention to processes and relationship between artists and space. Therefore, one of the most significant activities of SISMO are its residencies. The first one, over the period of five weeks, has been directed by performance artist Carlos Fernández; the second one, shorter on time –ten days-, has been developed by the French dance company Etxea. Both residencies have based their research on the investigation of space, in particular two of the most representative places of Matadero Madrid: El Taller and Abierto x Obras.   SISMO continues its support to the meeting format, considering it as seed for thought and movement. For this reason, the festival boosts and insists on ROOM. On this edition, choreographer Mónica Valenciano leads this theoretical and practical space, where numerous instigators and artists of the peninsular scenic panorama have been called before . On Saturday, public may attend to the conclusions of this meeting, backbone of the festival.   Another of the SISMO obsessions is to have an horizontal and no compartmentalized view. Hence, the festival has organized several meetings: with filmmaker Chus Domínguez, a representative figure in the documentary field who has developed one of the most powerful visual reflections in recent years; with Antonio Luque, Sr. Chinarro, who will speak about the conjunction between word and music and who made and makes Spanish pop music move forward on a different speed; with plastic artist Josechu Dávila, who will speak about one of the most site-specific projects that have been done in Madrid; and with Línea de Fuga, an artist collective that will explain their own voyage in search of new ways from which create and interact.   In addition, SISMO offers: the performances of Valencian company Losquequedan, who will present their performance piece in a flat next to Matadero Madrid, in Arganzuela district; David Fernández’s intervention specifically done for Abierto x Obras space , and the presentation of Sergi Faüstino’s new work, C60, still a work in progress at the moment. This last work will be showed, among other activities, at La Tabacalera De Lavapiés on the closing day of the Festival. SISMO keeps going with the frog, as the animal itself, trying to deafly perceive tectonic movements.
