SPANISH CINEMA DAY 2026

Cineteca celebrates Spanish Cinema Day on October 6 with the screening of two lesser-known gems from our film heritage, proving that Spanish cinema is far more diverse and border-crossing than is commonly believed. First, we present the restored version of Fernando Trueba’s documentary Mientras el cuerpo aguante (1982), a portrait of singer Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio and one of the most unique works in our cinematic history: lyrical, humorous, profound, and deeply musical. The following day, we will premiere Pequeño diccionario de gramática de las nubes (Dentro cine, 2026), the latest production from this municipal, tuition-free film school, showcasing a possible future for Spanish cinema—one that is inclusive, plural, and diverse.
