SUSO SAIZ

At the forefront of the Spanish experimental music scene since the late 1970s, multi-instrumentalist Suso Saiz remains an explorer in a musical universe that knows no boundaries. He formed the seminal group Orquesta de las Nubes, as well as the studio project Música Esporádica, Suspended Memories and Trash of Dreams. 

Suso’s universe is in constant flux, with time taking precedence above all ese. His radiant drones are a nest of hidden feelings – they shimmer with complex emotions and textures, distilling moods of vulnerability and hope. His work has evolved towards the creation of textures, based on guitars and processes applied to acoustic elements and soundscapes. There are no synthesisers or electronic automation in his sound.

A prolific producer, he has recorded with some of Spain’s most distinctive folk musicians, as well as leading artists from the electronic and world music scenes, such as Steve Roach, Jorge Reyes, Salif Keita, Christian Fennesz, Gigi Masin, Suzanne Kraft, Glen Velez, etc. 

In January 2026 he premiered his piece INSIDE SOUNDS in Bozar (Brussels), along with Echo Collective, a commission from Europalia - International Festival of Arts and Culture.
