La Plaza en Otoño

Matadero Madrid and Mahou are back to shake the Plaza Matadero this Autumn. Directed by artist, curator and cultural programmer Fito Conesa and under the name of Synthetika, a project that vindicates the synthesiser beyond sound and places it as one of the triggering elements of change in the technological paradigm of recent history. The synthesiser as a technology and a soundtrack of a futurist past, and a retro future.
La plaza will host names closely linked to this musical instrument. The iconic duo Azul y Negro, the greatest representatives of Techno-Pop and the Spanish synthesiser scene, will offer a show at Matadero full of visuals and laser illustrating their greatest hits.
Mery Cuesta, critic, curator of art and drummer, will offer a talk on the origin of subcultures related to music from the Twentieth Century on. Josep Xortó + The Congosound will premiere in Madrid their musical proposal shifting from synthPop to Italo-disco. Venecia Flúor, a duet from Barcelona formed by Adrià Gil and Alba Rihe will fill the plaza with their new musical project to spread the seed of progressive folk. The Italian based in Berlin, Eva Geist will invite us to a musical film journey around melodies, arpeggios, soft rhythms and space nightclub.
Other participants will be Gelen Jeleton, Paco Chanivet and the Norwegian duet Soria Moria with a show designed specifically for La Plaza.
