REGRESO A VIRIDIANA [RETURN TO VIRIDIANA] (Pedro González Bermúdez / 25" / 2011 / Spain)  A documentary short directed by Pedro González Bermúdez, winner of the 2012 Goya award for Best Documentary.  Monique Roumette, a French student who, at 21, was present during the filming of Viridiana, relives the moments she spent next to brilliant Luis Buñuel: “It was a gift from the heavens, if you can say heavens, talking about Buñuel.  I had imagined him as a sacred monster.  His films had revealed to me a cruel and incredible world, from Land Without Bread to The Golden Age and Nazarín”.  The shy student, however, discovered a kind courteous person.  “He was very human, extremely human, emotive and emotional, despite appearances.  He had a great sense of humor.  He had already turned 60 and was a sort of a paterfamilias for all of us”.

ARREBATADOS: RECORDANDO A IVÁN ZULUETA [RAPTURED: REMEMBERING IVÁN ZULUETA] (Pedro González Bermúdez / 51" / 2010 / Spain)  Arrebato [Rapture], by Iván Zulueta, premiered June 9, 1980.  This documentary began as an homage to Iván Zulueta, but ended up becoming a portrait of a friendship: collaborators and friends of Zulueta's, such as Pedro Almodóvar, José Luis Borau, Julio Medem and Antonio Gasset try to do away with the image of him as “cursed” that surrounded the director in his later years, and remember him as a lively man, creative and very fun.
