TDC 62

DIMAD brings us the 62nd edition of the Type Directors Club of New York exhibition at Central de Diseño in Matadero Madrid. The exhibition features a selection of the year’s best international typeface designs.   The TDC Awards are given out by the Type Directors Club, an international association headquartered in New York that was founded in 1946, whose mission is to ensure the dissemination and protection of the written word, formally expressed through typography and represented in both print and screen media.   Of the broad range of activities carried out by the organisation (courses, workshops, etc.), the TDC Awards –the motive for this exhibition– aim to display a selection of typographic works chosen to receive awards in the categories of applied typeface and typeface design by an international panel of judges, using specific criteria to assess typographic quality. The exhibition will feature some of the winning works from the two categories. The first part will focus on applied typeface and communication and the second on the design of new typefaces.
