Following its success at the Madrid Fringe Festival, the Naves del Matadero welcome a Tempest full of color, magic, and meta-theatre that brings us a Shakespeare “for all audiences”, in a production whose premise is imagination and playfulness.  The company Barco Pirata, under the direction of Sergio Peris-Mencheta, washes the audience ashore, as if they were shipwrecked, on a desert island that's actually inhabited by elves, fairies, and monsters, where they can, while they're at it, reflect upon the inner workings of power, the struggle for it, and its ostentation.  And then, beneath the fun and imaginative veil of the piece according to one prespective, we discover that there is a lot more to it, since Shakespeare didn't overlook the chance to analyze the human spirit.  Five actors and three musicians bring more than twenty characters to life, in a circus juggler's show of a play.  Love, power, slavery and forgiveness, which overcomes revenge, are the basic ingredients in this piece, where Peris-Mencheta shows his commitment to lending the work a certain modern- and even cinematographic- air, making use of audiovisual projections and of live music, which plays a crucial role in its accompaniment of the action.  A feast for the sense and for the whole family: very very mischievous.
