TRAVELING SUITCASE CINEMA

Cine-Maleta present a workshop based on the illustration of silhouette cut outs for all children aged between 8-12 years.   Ramón, Ramón o el poema adelgazado  (Ramón, Ramón and the thinned out poem) The poetic aphorisms of Ramón Gómez from Serna.   Cine-Maleta is a workshop based on illustration and creating poems with silhouette cut outs, it is shadow theatre.   Illustrating with silhouettes means illustrating with black figures that have clearly defined contours, it’s illustration done with scissor cuts. Inspired by Chinese shadow theatre, silhouette illustration has a very precise technique, all that is needed is a pair of scissors and black cardboard.   Through illustrating the poems, the words are transformed into images and then projected on to Cine-Maleta’s screen where they move and come to life through their shadows.
