TRAVIS AND ERIN WILKERSON RETROSPECTIVE
Their hybrid, committed body of work intertwines political essay, historical research, reworked archives, and first-person narration to confront the wounds of past and present with ferocious honesty. From racial violence to nuclear imperialism, from workers’ memories to intimate grief, their cinema becomes a formal and emotional battlefield, where every image is a question and every cut a stance.
In collaboration with Intersección – A Coruña International Film Festival, this focus revisits some of their most significant films: An Injury to One (2002), an investigation into the murder of a union organizer in Montana; Machine Gun or Typewriter? (2015), a poetic and political statement against disillusionment; Did You Wonder Who Fired the Gun? (2017), an autobiographical exorcism on white guilt and inherited violence; Nuclear Family (2022), a journey into the radioactive heart of empire; and Through the Graves the Wind Is Blowing (2024), both elegy and manifesto, where landscape and resistance intertwine.
