From October 1st to March 2011, the working platform Procesos De Archivo approaches the file and the ways of inhabiting it. Under this premise four artists present their works related with the poetic use of files. Ovni Archive, an installation of Rosell Meseguer; and Satellite Contact, the video installation of Uriel Orlow and Ruth Maclennan, are the first stations on this route.   Satellite Contact is a journey into the bowels of one of the largest national archives in the world, The National Archives (the British government's official file). For an hour, two video cameras move to the rhythm of the mechanism that makes the search of the documents through the titanic file structure. The documentary records what happens at the indoor protected areas –which are almost like safe boxes-, at the long corridors, or at the reading rooms.   The collaboration between Uriel Orlow and Ruth Maclennan has as a result a seemingly simple and direct film piece, but that succeeds in recreating on a tangible and poetic way the complicated mechanism that structures the British government`s file.
