Born in Burgos, ever since 2005 Cecilio Castrillo has focused his creative activity on making masks, corsets, headdresses or any piece you can possibly imagine on a body, always with leather as his main material. Many of these pieces have been published in fashion editorials that have appeared in such international magazines as Vogue Italia, Harper’s Bazaar, Schön Magazine, etc. And his creations have flown from his workshop in Burgos to the stages of the Paris National Opera, the Zurich Opera, the Billboard Music Awards and the Grammy Awards ceremonies.

With Wearable Art, Castrillo is inaugurating his first solo exhibition, a compilation of some of the works he has created in recent years together with a number of as yet unpublished pieces created especially for the installation.

“My style has changed throughout my career, albeit always preserving an easily recognizable transgressive aesthetic. I have selected a number of pieces that highlight the different phases my creative capacity has passed through. From the darkest aesthetics to light and luxury”, Castrillo states.
