Coolture LabFusiónCulturas and DIMAD join forces to offer a workshop featuring architect and designer Amina Agueznay: Wearables.   The idea behind this workshop is to bring together 10 designers and 10 fashion and design students in order to produce two creations: one small item and one large one in prototype format based on a module that will be developed from a series of concepts used in architecture.
  • Key words: scale and proportion, miniature and monumental, excess.
  • Key elements: point, line, plane and volume.
  • Shapes: circle, square, regular and irregular, linear, radial, grouped, grid.
  • Principles of order: axis, symmetry, hierarchy, rhythm, repetition, transformation.
Following the workshop, the 20 artists will work on their final pieces, which will be exhibited for a period at Central de Diseño and other renowned venues to allow the Madrid public to appreciate the final results of the workshop and to experience authentic artistic and cultural fusion.   The exhibition will open with an exclusive event for 200 guests at which journalists, artists, institutions, business owners, culture and art lovers will attend, in order to continue to foster, in this manner, the interaction between Spanish and Moroccan artists.

About Amina Agueznay
When she isn’t collecting stones, wood, plastic and leather, jewellery designer Amina Agueznay creates small pieces of art in her studio for weeks or sometimes months at a time. “Jewellery takes me right back to my childhood, which was a very visually rich display of Berber jewellery.  It influenced me greatly.”
Agueznay was born in Casablanca. She grew up around Farid Belkahia and other artists whom she still considers to be important sources of inspiration.
