An intimate look at the life, the works, and the creative process of North America's most prolific filmmaker, Woody Allen, from his childhood in Brooklyn to the premiere of his most recent international hit, Midnight In Paris.

Director Robert B. Weide had his debut in film as co-producer and co-writer of a film about the Marx brothers shown on PBS in 1982.  Since then he has made cinematic portraits of the likes of W.C. Fields, Mort Sahl, Lenny Bruce and, recently, Woody Allen.  Since 1988 he's been working on a documentary about Kurt Vonnegut, and he was executive producer of the television series Curb Your Enthusiasm for several years.
