Antonio Fernández Alvira
Resonancia del pliegue (Resonance of the Fold). The project is conceived as a sculptural laboratory expanded into the digital realm, where the gesture of wrapping — protecting, nurturing, transforming — is translated into data, image, and code.
The research explores how the corporeal might persist within the technological, and how a trace, a fold, or a movement can migrate from matter to algorithm without losing its sensory dimension.
Using drawing, textile manipulation, and digital tools, the project pushes the boundaries of sculpture to address the deviations, errors, and transformations that emerge in the transition between body and machine.
The wrapping is conceived as a symbolic membrane: an interface between the physical and the virtual, the manual and the programmed. Resonance of the Fold proposes that we consider the sculptural as a vibration between media: a porous space where the gesture encounters new materialities and temporalities through its technological translation, persisting as a form of sensory knowledge in transformation.
