A CONVERSATION WITH ANNE CARSON

In the run-up to the in-person edition of the international literature festival Capítulo Uno (Chapter One), organised in conjunction with Casa del Lector, Matadero Madrid presents a monthly series of online literary conversations.

The first of these events took place on the 14th of January and featured one of the leading poets of our time, Anne Carson, who recently won the Princess of Asturias Award for Literature.

Gifted with an unpredictable and rebellious voice that is full of ingenuity, Carson’s masterly knowledge of classical culture, which she rewrites and updates, allows her to create a polymorphous literature in which a highly personal voice coexists with cultural genres, literatures, languages and epochs. She was interviewed by the journalist and writer Marta Peirano.
