One of the most important documentary festivals in the world returns to Cineteca Madrid with the best of non fiction cinema.
DocumentaMadrid, the international documentary film festival promoted by the Madrid City Council, will be held at Cineteca from April 30 to May 10, 2015.
As one of the most important documentary festivals in the world, DocumentaMadrid boasts at Official Section a selection of the season’s best non-fiction films from around the globe not yet released in Spain. They will compete to take home the award for Best Documentary (short and feature film categories).
Once again this year, the official selection will be joined by Panorama of the Spanish Documentary, a section that offers a unique vision at documentaries made in Spain, where filmmakers are producing an increasingly rich variety of works from fresh perspectives.
DocumentaMadrid continues its ongoing mission to support and spread non-fiction cinema as a reflection of the different social, cultural, economic, artistic, environmental and technological realities that exist on our planet, and a medium that gives us a precise picture of the tumultuous times we live in from different points of view.

The selected works – exclusively based on qualitative criteria – give us a multifaceted, multidisciplinary vision of the global reality, becoming a key complement to works shown at Cineteca Madrid, the only cinema in Spain devoted to non-fiction film. Once again, from April 30 to May 10, 2015, it will serve as the festival headquarters and an annual meeting place for industry professionals, filmmakers and the documentary audience.
At DocumentaMadrid we are working hard to bring you a festival full of great cinema that conveys the insights, controversies, helplessness, unease, hope and all the other sensations that reality offers us each day.
