World premiere of the new show by María Pagés Compañía at Centro Danza Matadero.
María Pagés is a child of the sixties and comes from a conservative family with an infinite devotion to the Virgin of the Snows and the Church of Santa María la Blanca in Seville.
She left her family at the age of fifteen to live in a house on Bilbao Square in Madrid. On that journey of initiation, in a black Citroën driven by Doña Masu, her mother, she was accompanied by the latter and Doña Maruja Mestres Pintó, her grandmother, who suddenly began to speak Catalan, her mother tongue, to the whole of Seville, to the disbelief of a shy, dreamy and taciturn girl who only cared about dancing and mathematics.
Bilbao Square narrates María's sentimental legacy through flamenco choreography, focusing on her ritual migration from her native Seville to Madrid, her gateway to the world.
