MuMo
Contemporary Art on Wheels for children
Institution
MuMo is a fascinating mobile museum-lorry offering children aged 6 to 12 a chance to enjoy a collection of contemporary art created especially for them.
The aim of this initiative on wheels ─ the idea of curator Ingrid Brochard ─ is to introduce children to contemporary art with 14 pieces created especially for them by leading international artists such as Paul McCarthy, Daniel Buren, Maurizio Cattelan, James Turrell, Sébastien Cordoleani, Nari Ward, John Baldessari, Ghada Amer, Florence Doléac, Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Pierre Huyghe, Farhad Moshiri, Roman Signer and Majorcan artist Miquel Barceló.
This huge, original truck, designed as a mobile museum, has four distinct areas and two floors devoted to painting, sculpture, installation art, video and design where children can become immersed in different worlds through which they can freely explore the art.
This museum and the creative workshops that complement the tours help to teach children to observe with imagination and to see art as something familiar.
Visiting times:
21 & 23 December at 10am, 11am, 12 noon, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm.
24 December at 10am, 11am and 12 noon. Workshop times:
