In this edition of L.E.V Matadero, Mexican artist Fernando Corona, known as Murcof, will present his most talked-about projects in a session, The Etna Sessions and Twin Color. The concert, part of L.E.V’s Silent Sound Sessions, will take place in Matadero Square and be repeated in two free performances with wireless headphones provided by the organization.
The project, The Etna Sessions, is based on field recordings made in Etna Park, which were later transformed using analog and digital tools and enriched with modular synthesizers. The result is a soundscape that moves between drone, ambient, vaporous dub, and minimalist techno, charged with volcanic and monumental atmospheres. His work Twin Color will also be featured, a project that combines Murcof's interest in modular synthesis, the construction of sound worlds, generating an immersive experience that evokes a futuristic nostalgia.
Murcof's music uniquely explores electronic sound through minimalism, abstraction, and a profound connection to classical and experimental traditions. His work fuses glitch percussion, harmonies influenced by contemporary music, and structures ranging from ambient and drone to echoes of techno and dub. Throughout his career, he has created pieces that reinterpret everything from baroque recordings to collaborations with jazz musicians, Indian music, and contemporary composers. With projects such as The Alias Sessions (2021), Murcof has consolidated a style of refined tension and ethereal beauty, capable of expanding both in recording and live, where each collaboration enriches his sound universe.
