Repair Day 2025

On October 18, we celebrate the power of repair to bring people together, reduce our impact on the planet, learn new skills, and much more. Whether you’re a repairer, organizer, handyman, maker, activist, or simply a repair enthusiast, there are many ways to get involved.

When software updates stop coming, perfectly good hardware gets thrown away — undermining the efforts of our community and feeding the growing mountain of electronic waste.

On October 14, ironically just four days before Repair Day and on International E-Waste Day, Microsoft will end free support for Windows 10 — a decision that will lead to a massive increase in e-waste.

We’ll try to help by making it easier for people to switch to the alternative operating system, Linux. Linux is free, belongs to everyone, and keeps evolving. The thing is, many people still have an unfounded fear of it. That’s why we want to launch a special Linux Repair Café. Want to join us?

The Electrocrochet section promotes sustainable creativity through the circular economy. We collect and recycle old cables, adapting and transforming them into amazing textile creations:

Jewelry, brooches, rings, earrings, bracelets, lamps, samples of basic macramé knots, and contemporary artworks made from reused scraps, donated yarn leftovers, and all kinds of skeins. Each piece is a fusion of art, reuse, and reimagined traditional craftsmanship — where electrical and textile elements intertwine to give new life to forgotten materials.
